Mission Statement

Hello all!
My name is Giuseppe Antonio Filippone. Like many a person out in this small world of ours, I am a passionate follower of all things automotive; technology related to manufacture, design, prototyping, drivetrains, user interfaces, and distribution. I also have a fascination with the world in which the everyday vehicle lives, that is, the context in which we drive our vehicles every day.

The intent of this particular blog is to track what I see as the creeping technology that I feel will eventually lead to a world of complete driver-less vehicles being the normal vehicles in our everyday lives. I will start this blog out by doing my level best to trace the history of the fantasy and reality of technologies that have enhanced the experience of the everyday driver by either lessening his or her burden while driving or completely eliminating key tasks that drivers have to take on when operating a vehicle in a normal context.

I will also take a close look at the evolution of the contexts of the vehicle in an effort to understand and draw parallels between its evolution in the US and other countries and the evolution of the modern road, the modern city, and the modern highway.

I will constantly be updating this blog with whatever I find to be the most current, up to the minute developments in driver "aids" as well, by attending all the auto shows I can access, accessing all the possible specific industry publications, and scanning other fields for potentially applicable information, so as to keep myself, you the reader, and the blog as informed as possible.

I hope you all find this blog enjoyable, insightful, and thoughtful and I certainly welcome contributions, critiques, and comments in the future. Thank you for your time.
